Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton softball team used two strong pitching performances to secure a doubleheader sweep of Middlesex College on Tuesday afternoon at Spartan Field. 

GAME ONE - Won 6-5
In game one, Reggie Bangcoro (Easton, PA/Easton) earned the complete game victory, going 7 innings, allowing 5 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits, striking out 4 and walking 4. 

The Spartans got on the board in the bottom of the 1st as Jillian Reed (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Institute of Technology (NJ)) drew a leadoff walk, advanced on an error and then scored on a Cassandra Schillo (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) single.  Schillo advanced on an error and then scored on a single from Siera Klingle (East Bangor, PA/Bangor), giving Northampton a 2-0 lead.

The Colts tied the score in the top of the 3rd, getting 2 runs on 2 hits.

Northampton added 2 more runs in the bottom of the 3rd, as Reed and Hannah Karc (Wind Gap, PA/Nazareth) both singled and then each scored on a single from Klingle, putting the Spartans up 4-2.

Middlesex added a run in the 5th and 2 in the 7th to take a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the 7th inning. 

Jillian Reed (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Institute of Technology (NJ)) led off with a walk, followed by a double from Hannah Karc (Wind Gap, PA/Nazareth).  Reed scored on an error, and Karc moved to 3rd, tying the game at 5-5.  Cassandra Schillo (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) was intentionally walked and advanced to 2nd, drawing a throw from the Middlesex catcher, which allowed Karc to race home with the winning run, giving Northampton the 6-5 win.

Schillo finished 2 for 3 with a walk and Karc was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 runs scored.

GAME TWO - Won 4-1
In game two, Siera Klingle (East Bangor, PA/Bangor) earned the win in the circle, allowing just 2 hits over 7 innings, 1 run (no earned), striking out 6 and walking none.

Chelsea Melkowits (Lanoka Harbor, NJ/Lacey Township (NJ)) put Northampton up 1-0 in the bottom of the 2nd with a solo homerun

Middlesex tied the contest at 1-1 with a run in the top of the 5th. 

In the bottom of the 5th, Bailey Goldberg (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) got hit by a pitch, and then scored on a Siera Klingle (East Bangor, PA/Bangor) homerun.  Reggie Bangcoro (Easton, PA/Easton) reached on an error, and then scored on a double from Melkowits, putting Northampton up 4-1.

Klingle would close the door on the Colts, to secure the victory. 

Chelsea Melkowits (Lanoka Harbor, NJ/Lacey Township (NJ)) finished 3 for 3 with a double, homerun on 2 RBI, while Klingle helped her own cause with a 1 for 3 performance with 2 RBI.

The sweep moves Northampton to 18-8 overall, while Middlesex falls to 10-14. 

The Spartans host Sussex County Community College on Thursday in a Region 19 doubleheader.
