BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's soccer team dropped their matchup with perennial GSAC powerhouse Brookdale Community College on Thursday afternoon, falling 2-0 to the Jersey Blues at Spartan Field.
In just the 6th contest all-time between the programs, Brookdale took an early 1-0 lead at the 30 minute mark, beating goalkeeper
Colston Jasionowski (Easton, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) with a hard blast to the lower corner. Â
The Jersey Blues kept the 1-0 lead until 20 minutes remaining in the contest when they added an insurance goal to go up 2-0.
The Spartans had offensive opportunities in both halves, but could not convert.
Jasionowski had 6 saves in goal for the Spartans.Â
The loss drops Northampton to 2-3-1 overall, while Brookdale improves to 5-4-0.Â
The Spartans are back in action on Saturday when they host Middlesex College at noon.Â
