SCRANTON, Pa. - Just 11 days after falling 3-1 to Lackawanna on their home court, the Northampton women's volleyball team responded with a resounding 3-0 sweep of the Division II Falcons on Wednesday evening at the Student Union Gymnasium. 

The Spartans won 25-22, 25-18, 25-21 as Kailen Felty (Pine Grove, PA/Pine Grove) recorded 5 kills, 4 aces, 11 digs and 11 blocks and Alyssa Eilenberger (Saylorsburg, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond) added 5 kills, 16 digs and 5 blocks. 

"We came out ready to play tonight," remarked Head Coach Rachael Aquila, "we have had some slow starts this season, but tonight we were able to gain some momentum early and ride it throughout the match."

Mackenzie Davis (Warsaw, VA/Rappahannock (VA)) had 20 digs to add to her career record total and Leana Angelone (Coopersburg, PA/Faith Christian Academy) tallied 20 assists and 13 digs for the Spartans. 

Northampton improves to 14-6 overall with the win, while Lackawanna falls to 15-6. 

The Spartans return to the hardwood on Saturday with a trip to Dover, Delaware to face Division II Del Tech at 12pm.
