SCRANTON, Pa. - The Northampton men's soccer team dropped a non-conference match-up on Saturday afternoon, falling to Division II Lackawanna College, 4-2, at Schautz Memorial Stadium.
The Spartans fell behind 3-0, before their leading scorer
Elijah Ejiofor (Gonesse, France/Pocono Mt. West) deposited a
Wisdom Ntona (Johannesburg, South Africa/Queens) pass into the Falcon goal to cut the deficit to 3-1 with 7 minutes remaining in the first half.
The Falcons tacked on another goal midway through the second half, before Northampton finished the scoring with a
Cael Anderko (Bath, PA/Northampton) direct kick from 35 yards out with 10 minutes remaining.
Omar Zatar (Paterson, NJ/Pocono Mt. West) had 4 saves for the Spartans.
The non-conference loss drops Northampton to 5-4-2 overall, while Lackawanna improves to 1-3-0.
The Spartans are back on the pitch on Tuesday October 8th when they host Lehigh Carbon Community College at 4pm.
