BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's volleyball team opened the 2024 campaign with a dominating 3-0 victory over Passaic County Community College on Wednesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
The Spartans, coming off a 9-1 inaugural season in 2023, controlled the match vs. the Panthers, winning 25-13, 25-13, 25-11 to earn the sweep.
"I was really proud of the guys tonight," remarked Head Coach
Rachael Aquila, "we were excited to finally get on the floor and play and I thought they did a tremendous job."
Zach Franges (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) recorded 30 assists, while
Alex Schoenen (Northampton, PA/Northampton) had 13 kills, 4 service aces and 3 blocks.
John Nice (Feasterville, PA/Neshaminy) added 8 kills and 6 service aces and
Ramon Romero (San Pedro Sula, Hondurus/Liceo Billingue (HN)) recorded 14 digs and 4 kills.
The opening night victory moves Northampton to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in Region 19.
Passaic falls to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in Region play.
The Spartans are back in action on Monday the 19th when they host Harcum College at 6pm.
