BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton Community College men's basketball team downed RCSJ-Gloucester 78-53 on Tuesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center, limiting the Roadrunners to just 29% shooting from the field.
The Spartans sprinted out to a 38-22 halftime advantage and the lead ballooned to 30 with 3:53 remaining, before setting on the 25 point victory. "Good all around effort, and good to be back in the win column," stated Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "we now need to focus on this upcoming stretch of Region games and set ourselves up for the postseason."
Elijah Hamilton (Atglen, PA/Octorara Jr/Sr) led the Spartans with 16 points, while
Nate Rivera (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) added 14 and
Ethan Sakwa (Tobyhanna, PA/Pocono Mt. West) chipped in with 10, as ten players scored at least 1 point.
The win moves Northampton to 16-8 overall and 9-4 in Region 19.
RCSJ-Gloucester falls to 8-14 overall and 6-9 in the Region.
The Spartans travel to Harrisburg on Thursday to face Harrisburg Area Community College at 6pm.Â
