BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's volleyball team swept Atlantic Cape Community College on Wednesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center, downing the Buccaneers 25-16, 25-17, 25-18, to improve to 8-1 on the season.
Alex Schoenen (Northampton, PA/Northampton) had a big night with 15 kills, 10 digs, 3 solo blocks and 3 block assists, while
Zach Franges (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) notched 31 assists and 2 service aces.
"Solid win tonight over a good opponent," remarked Head Coach
Rachael Aquila, "Atlantic Cape has some really good wins this season, so we knew it would be a challenge, but the guys responded tonight in a big way."
Matteo Mowrey (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) added 9 digs and
Ramon Romero (San Pedro Sula, Hondurus/Liceo Billingue (HN)) had 8 kills, 7 digs, 4 solo blocks and 4 block assists.
The Spartans are now off until Monday March 18th when they travel to Cranford, NJ to face Union County College at 6pm.
Atlantic Cape falls to 8-4 overall and 6-2 in Region 19 with the loss.
