BLACKWOOD, NJ - The 2nd ranked Northampton baseball completed the series sweep of Camden County College, downing the Cougars 19-5, on Wednesday afternoon at Logan Field. The Spartans had taken games one and two of the Region 19 series on Tuesday in Bethlehem.
Logan Magdits (Nazareth, PA/Pen Argyl) pitched 4 innings, allowing 5 hits, striking out 6, as he improved to 3-0 on the season.
Ben Mostosky (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) pitched 3 innings in relief, allowing 2 hits, 1 run and striking out 1.
Brody Hinkle (Wrightsville, PA/Eastern York) was 3-4 with a double, 3 runs scored, 2 stolen bases and 4 RBI,
John Smale (Kunkletown, PA/Pleasant Valley) went 2-3 with a double and 4 RBI and
Robert Furino (East Stroudsburg, PA/Pocono Mt. East) finished 2-4 with a double.
The win moves Northampton to 27-4 overall and 15-3 in Region 19.
Camden falls to 8-12 overall and 7-11 in the Region.
The Spartans will start another Region 19 series on Friday, as they travel across the valley to Lehigh Carbon for a 9-inning game, slated to start at 3:30pm.
Games two and three will be at Northampton on Saturday, starting at noon.
