BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton baseball team finished off a 7-0 week with a doubleheader sweep of Luzerne County Community College on Sunday afternoon at Spartan Park. Veteran mentor Adrian Yaguez picked up career win #400 in game one and now stands at 401-200 during his 16 year tenure in the Spartan dugout.
GAME ONE - Won 35-0
The #2 Spartans topped Luzerne 35-0 in game, as
Austin Beard (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) picked up the win, improving to 7-1 on the season. Beard and 4 other Spartan pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter in the shutout win. Beard started and threw 2 innings, striking out 2, followed by
Nate Mostosky (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley), who threw 2 innings and fanned 5.

In game two, the Spartans used 6 pitchers, limiting Luzerne to 2 runs on 4 hits, as the Spartans completed the sweep with a convincing 35-2 victory.
