BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off a disappointing weekend, the Northampton women's volleyball team took charge early vs. Delaware County Community College and never looked back, sweeping the Phantoms 25-5, 25-5, 25-3, on Monday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Kailen Felty (Pine Grove, PA/Pine Grove) recorded 14 kills, 4 digs and 1 block assist,
Lexi Womack (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) had 4 kills and 7 service aces and
Mackenzie Davis (Warsaw, VA/Rappahannock (VA)) notched 9 digs and 8 service aces for the Spartans.
"There was definitely some frustration after our performance this past weekend," remarked Head Coach
Rachael Aquila, "I believe this group is capable of competing for a championship, but we have to be ready to compete for each point. We have struggled with slow starts this season, but tonight we jumped out early and stayed focused."
The win moves Northampton to 6-4 overall, while Delaware County falls to 0-4.
The Spartans return to the Spartan Center on Thursday evening when they host Raritan Valley Community College at 6pm.
