BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's volleyball team picked up a big Region 19 crossover victory on Thursday evening, downing GSAC member Raritan Valley Community College, 3-1, at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
After dropping the 1st set 25-23, the Spartans won 3 straight sets, (25-20, 25-11, 25-22), to down the Lions.
Kailen Felty (Pine Grove, PA/Pine Grove) had a big night, recording 15 kills, 14 digs, 10 blocks, and 3 service aces, while
Lexi Womack (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) added 14 kills, 9 digs and 2 blocks.Â
"I thought we did a good job making some adjustments tonight," remarked Head Coach
Rachael Aquila, "RVCC had us a little off-balance, but after that 1st set we were able to make a couple changes that turned things in our favor."
Leana Angelone (Coopersburg, PA/Faith Christian Academy)Â registered 38 assists and 14 digs and
Mackenzie Davis (Warsaw, VA/Rappahannock (VA)) nothced 13 digs and 5 service aces.Â
The win moves Northampton to 7-4 overall and 3-2 in Region 19.Â
Rartian Valley falls to 11-9 overall and 6-4 in the Region.
The Spartans are back in action on Saturday when they head to Harcum College for tri-match with the Bears and the Lions of the Community College of Philadelphia.Â
