BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Sophomore
Kailen Felty (Pine Grove, PA/Pine Grove) recorded 13 kills, 7 digs and 7 blocks to lead the Northampton Women's Volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-14) sweep of Penn State - Lehigh Valley on Wednesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Leana Angelone (Coopersburg, PA/Faith Christian Academy) was credited with 32 assists,
Alyssa Eilenberger (Saylorsburg, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond) had 9 kills and 3 service aces and
Lexi Womack (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) added 9 kills, 13 digs and 3 solo blocks for the Spartans.
Northampton registered 39 kills in the match along with 7 service aces.
The win moves Northampton, which received votes in this week's NJCAA national poll, to 2-1 overall.
Penn State - Lehigh Valley, which is a member of the USCAA, falls to 0-1.
The Spartans return to action this weekend when they travel to Delaware County Community College to face the Phantoms and Harrisburg Area Community College in a Region 19 tri-match. Northampton is scheduled to face Harrisburg at 2pm and then DCCC at 4pm. The matches will be played at the
Ellis Athletic Center in Newtown Square, PA.
