BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team shot 57% from the field, including a 12 for 26 performance from downtown, in a 100-73 victory over Harrisburg Area Community College on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Nate Rivera (Bethlehem, PA/LIberty) and
Sebastian Fermin (East Stroudsburg, PA/Pocono Mountain East) each had 4 three-pointers and
Ethan Ringenberger (Egypt, PA/Whitehall) went 3 for 3 from behind the arc, as the Spartans outscored the Hawks 36 to 12 from distance.Â
Rivera led five Spartans in double figures with 20, followed by
Ameer Herran (Phillipsburg, NJ/Phillipsburg (NJ)) with 16, Fermin 15, and
Abdul Jackson (Pottstown, PA/Pottstown) and
Josh Washington (Bethlehem, PA/Executive Charter) each with 12.Â
"I thought we got a little undisciplined defensively in the second half," remarked Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "but we were able to refocus and finish strong down the stretch."
JJ Kolumber (Northampton, PA/Northampton) dished out 8 assists, Jackson had 4 steals and Herran added 5 blocks to pace the Spartans.Â
Northampton improves to 16-2 overall, 10-2 in Region 19 and 5-1 in the EPAC. The Spartans now lead the all-time series with Harrisburg 24-2, with 11 straight victories.Â
Harrisburg falls to 2-15Â overall, 1-9Â in Region 19 and 1-6Â in conference play.
The Spartans return to action on Tuesday when they host the Misericordia College JV team at 6pm.Â
