BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 14th ranked Northampton men's basketball team dominated in the paint and from the arc in Tuesday's 104-64 victory over the Misericordia University JV at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
The Spartans shot 61% from the field, including a 12 for 22 performance from 3-point range, in dismantling the Cougars.
"Just a great shooting night," remarked Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "it really became contagious, everyone was shooting with confidence and the guys did a nice job sharing the ball."
Sebastian Fermin (East Stroudsburg, PA/Pocono Mountain East) had a team-high 23 points,
Nate Rivera (Bethlehem, PA/LIberty) added 15, while
Ameer Herran (Phillipsburg, NJ/Phillipsburg (NJ)) and
Ethan Sakwa (Tobyhanna, PA/Pocono Mountain West) each had 12.
12 of the 13 Spartans in uniform scored at least one point.
The win moves Northampton to 17-2 overall, while Misericordia falls to 6-3.
The Spartans return to conference play on Saturday January 25th when they travel to Carney's Point, NJ to face Salem Community College.
