Spartans Dominate Cougars in 104-64 Non Conference Victory

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 14th ranked Northampton men's basketball team dominated in the paint and from the arc in Tuesday's 104-64 victory over the Misericordia University JV at the Arthur L. Scott Center.

The Spartans shot 61% from the field, including a 12 for 22 performance from 3-point range, in dismantling the Cougars.

"Just a great shooting night," remarked Head Coach Brennan McCarthy, "it really became contagious, everyone was shooting with confidence and the guys did a nice job sharing the ball."

Sebastian Fermin (East Stroudsburg, PA/Pocono Mountain East) had a team-high 23 points, Nate Rivera (Bethlehem, PA/LIberty) added 15, while Ameer Herran (Phillipsburg, NJ/Phillipsburg (NJ)) and Ethan Sakwa (Tobyhanna, PA/Pocono Mountain West) each had 12.

12 of the 13 Spartans in uniform scored at least one point.

The win moves Northampton to 17-2 overall, while Misericordia falls to 6-3.

The Spartans return to conference play on Saturday January 25th when they travel to Carney's Point, NJ to face Salem Community College.
