EDISON, NJ - The Middlesex men's soccer team scored 4 goals in the first 20 minutes of action on Saturday afternoon vs. Northampton, and ran away with an 8-0 victory at Crabiel Park. 
The Colts scored goals at the 4 minute, 14 minute, 18 minute and 20 minute marks and then added 3 more tallies before halftime, to take a commanding 7-0 lead into the intermission. 
Middlesex added their 8th goal at the 70 minute mark, which then enforced the NJCAA 8-goal lead mercy rule. 
"We never got on track today," commented Head Coach 
Mario Barrantes, "no excuses, Middlesex just totally outplayed us."
The loss drops Northampton to 2-9-2 overall and 2-9-2 in Region 19.
Middlesex improves to 9-3-2 overall and 9-2-2 in the Region.
The Spartans are back in action on Tuesday for Sophomore Day, as they host Ocean County College (9-1-2) at 4pm.
