BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton Women's Volleyball team improved to 21-1 on the season with a tri-match sweep over Ocean County College and Montgomery County Community College at the Arthur L. Scott Center on Saturday afternoon in their annual Dig Pink event.
Match One vs Ocean County College - Won 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-23)
Spartan Freshman Middle Hitter
Kyra Miller (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) recorded 12 kills, 1 dig and a solo block while Sophomore Outside Hitter
Lexi Womack (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) added 10 kills and 19 digs to pace the Spartans in their opening match. Freshman Middle Hitter
Grace Coppola (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic) also contributed with 6 kills, 2 service aces, 5 digs and 3 blocks. Setter
Samantha Nagy (Easton, PA/Easton) collected 31 assists, 2 kills, 11 digs and 3 blocks and
Gianna Sciarra (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) continued her steady play with 18 digs and 5 service aces.
Ocean is now 9-2 overall and 8-2 in the Region with the loss.
Match Two vs Montgomery County Community College - Won 3-0 (25-6, 25-8, 25-6)
Freshman
Sophia Tyma (Bethlehem, PA/Lehigh Valley Academy) collected 7 kills and 6 blocks while
Lexi Womack (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) added 5 kills, 2 digs, 1 assist and a solo block to lead the Spartans over the Mustangs.
Grace Coppola (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic) added 4 kills, 2 digs and a strong serve game with 8 service aces while
Samantha Nagy (Easton, PA/Easton) collected 22 assists and 5 service aces of her own.
Gianna Sciarra (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) added 13 digs and 3 service aces to support the win.
Montgomery falls to 2-17 overall and 2-8 in the Region.

Northampton improves to 21-1 overall and 12-0 in Region 19 with the two victories.
The Spartans, ranked #7 in the NJCAA national poll, are back in action on Monday when they travel to Dover, Delaware to take on NJCAA DII opponent Delaware Tech at the DTCC Sports Complex at 6pm.
