BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton Women's Volleyball team extended their win streak to 7 by picking up two more wins and improving to 25-1 with a tri-match sweep over RCSJ-Gloucester and Passaic on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Match One vs Passaic County Community College - Won 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-17)
Freshman Middle Hitter
Sophia Tyma (Bethlehem, PA/Lehigh Valley Academy) collected 8 kills, 1 assist and 9 blocks and Freshman Outside Hitter
Kyra Miller (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) added 8 kills to again lead the Spartans front row attack. Freshman Middle Hitter
Grace Coppola (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic) contributed to the strong play with 5 kills and 3 blocks. Sophomore
Samantha Nagy (Easton, PA/Easton) recorded 22 assists along with 3 service aces and 7 digs while Libero
Gianna Sciarra (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) added 23 digs and 3 service aces.
Passaic falls to 6-7 overall and 5-7 in the Region 19 with the loss.

Freshman Outside Hitter
Kyra Miller (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) continued her strong play with a season high 14 kills, 2 digs and 2 blocks against the Roadrunners. Sophomore Outside Hitter
Lexi Womack (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) chipped in with 9 kills, 16 digs and 4 service aces while Middle Hitter
Sophia Tyma (Bethlehem, PA/Lehigh Valley Academy) collected 6 kills and 8 total blocks. Setter
Samantha Nagy (Easton, PA/Easton) registered 41 assists, the fourth time this season she has gone over the 40 assist mark in a Match, while also adding 5 digs to her effort. Libero
Gianna Sciarra (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) collected 20 digs and 3 service aces.
RCSJ-Gloucester slips to 11-6 overall with the loss and 6-6 in Region 19.

Rachael Aquila, "Happy to see us get the two wins and feel we are starting to hit our stride again as we get closer to playoffs. We have another big test Monday as we finish our regular season on the road at Raritan Valley."
The 25 wins in a season is a first for Head Coach
Rachael Aquila in her five years leading the Spartans program, as she improves her career mark to 78-23. Aquila, a former student athlete for the Spartans, was part of the the 2015 and 2016 teams that went a combined 57-11 with back to back national tournament appearances in Rochester, Minnesota. Aquila was named to the NJCAA All-Tournament team following her sophomore season in 2016 under former Head Coach
Adrian Yaguez.
The nationally ranked Spartans, 7th in the NJCAA national poll, improve to 25-1 overall and 13-0 in the Region with the tri-match sweep.
The Spartans are back in action on Monday as travel to Somerville, NJ to wrap up the regular season with a Region 19 showdown with Raritan Valley at the Lions Sports Arena at 6pm.
