BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton Men's Soccer team and the 8th ranked Raritan Valley Golden Lions went back and forth for 90 minutes playing to a hard fought 4-4 deadlock on Saturday afternoon at Spartan Field.
The Spartans, trailing 1-0 early into the contest, got the offense going when Freshman Forward 
Dominik Roszkowski (Easton, PA/Freedom) found the back the net at the 32 minute mark to knot the score at 1-1 and the game remained tied 1-1 at the intermission. 
Raritan Valley took a 2-1 lead just three minutes into the 2nd half and the Spartans quickly answered when Freshman 
Amir Rustom (Rihania, Israel/Branko Weiss Anna Frank) scored to tie the game at 2-2. The Golden Lions took back the lead 3-2 at the 64 minute mark and the Spartans answered again when 
Mohamed Hassanali (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) hit 
Santiago Rivas (Pereira, Columbia/Liceo Euroamericano) on a lead pass and Rivas connected for his 7th goal of the season and a 3-3 tie. The Spartans went ahead 4-3 when 
Mohamed Hassanali (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) scored through traffic in front of the Raritan Valley goal with just 8 minutes remaining, giving Northampton their first lead of the contest. The Golden Lions were able to answer the score with just under 5 minutes remaining on a loose ball in front of the Spartans net to tie the contest at 4-4. Both teams were unable to capitalize in the final minutes.
Freshman goalie 
Theo Jenkins (Phillipsburg, NJ/Nazareth) faced 8 shots and made four saves for the Spartans.

The Spartans are now 2-7-2 overall on the season.
Raritan Valley moves to 7-1-3 overall.
The Spartans are back on the field this Tuesday, October 7th when they travel to Newton, NJ to take on Sussex County Community College at the Skylanders Soccer Complex at 4pm.
