NEWTON, NJ - The Northampton Men's Soccer team dropped a Region 19 road match-up Tuesday afternoon, falling to Sussex County Community College, 5-0, at Skylander Field.
The Spartans fell behind early when Dylan Zupkay connected on an unassisted goal just 7 minutes into the first half. Both teams were scoreless following the quick score until Zupkay connected again with 6 minutes remaining to put the Skylanders ahead at halftime, 2-0.
Northampton was unable to answer in the second half as the Skylanders added three more goals to seal the 5-0 victory. The Spartans managed 4 shots on goal while Sussex recorded 5 total shots. Spartan goalkeeper 
Theo Jenkins (Phillipsburg, NJ/Nazareth) recorded 1 save.
The Spartans fall to 2-8-2 overall with the loss and 2-8-2 in Region 19.
The Skylanders improve to 6-7-0 overall and 5-7-0 in the Region.
Northampton is back in action on Saturday, October 11th, when they travel to Edison, NJ to take on Middlesex College at the Colts Soccer Complex at 12pm.
