Spartans Down Bergen in Game One, Game Two Suspended

PARAMUS, NJ - The 10th ranked Northampton softball team downed Bergen Community College 11-3 in game one of their Region 19 doubleheader, while game two was suspended due to darkness with Northampton leading 13-0 after 2 innings. 

Taylor Neumann (York, PA/York Suburban) picked up the win in the circle in game one, striking out 11 in 5 innings of work, allowing just 1 unearned run.

Jenna Geiger (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) was 4 for 5 with 4 RBI and 3 runs scored, while Sydney Harper (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) finished 2 for 2 with a walk, run scored and a RBI.

The Spartans improve to 2-1 overall and 2-1 in Region 19 with the victory. 

Bergen falls to 0-5 overall and 0-5 in Region play. 

Northampton returns to action on Saturday when they host Brookdale Community College in a Region 19 doubleheader slated to begin at noon.
