PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Northampton men's volleyball team picked up two wins on Saturday at the Community College of Philadelphia tri-match, downing the host Lions 3-0, and then defeating Atlantic Cape Community College, 3-0, behind 26 kills on the day from sophomore
John Nice (Feasterville, PA/Neshaminy).
MATCH ONE - vs. COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF PHILADELPHIA (Won 3-0 / 25-7, 25-9, 25-11)
Nice recorded 15 kills in the first match of the day,
Brando Gomez (Allentown, PA/Building 21) had 8 kills,
Zach Franges (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) recorded 32 assists and
Matthew Gonzalez (Coopersburg, PA/Liberty) notched 16 digs.Â
MATCH TWO - vs. ATLANTIC CAPE COMMUNITY COLLEGE (Won 3-0 / 25-23, 25-22, 25-21)
John Nice (Feasterville, PA/Neshaminy) had 11 kills vs. Atlantic Cape,
Luke Smith (Breiningsville, PA/Parkland) was credited with 10 kills and 3 blocks and
Fred Patton (Trexlertown, PA/Parkland) had 8 kills and 10 digs.
Zach Franges (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) was credited with 34 assists and
Matthew Gonzalez (Coopersburg, PA/Liberty) recorded another 16 assists.Â

The two wins move Northampton to 9-1 overall and they improve to 7-1 in Region 19.Â
Monday the Spartans will host undefeated Union County College at 6pm.
