LINCROFT, NJ - The 12th ranked Northampton baseball team swept #3, and undefeated, Brookdale Community College, 12-3 and 13-12, on Tuesday afternoon at Johnson Stadium.

GAME ONE - Won 12-3
Jared Diefenbach (Stewartsville, NJ/Phillipsburg (NJ)) fired a complete game 5-hitter, allowing 3 runs (2 earned), while striking out 11, in improving to 4-0 on the season. 

Peter Hrousis (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) was 2 for 4 with a grand slam and 5 RBI, while Danny Qualteria (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) finished 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored, 2 stolen based and 2 RBI. 

Kyle Stoner (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township (NJ)) added 2 RBI and Shane Henrick (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon) and Cody Miller (Oxford, NJ/Warren Hills (NJ)) each had 2 hits. 

GAME TWO - Won 13-12
Trailing 11-4 entering the top of the 7th inning, the Spartans rallied, scoring 9 runs in the inning to take a 13-11 lead and then held off the Jersey Blues in the bottom half of the inning for the thrilling 13-12 victory. 

Cooper Natisin (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) picked up the win in relief, while Jayson Ehrhart (Pottstown, PA/Springford) earned the save. 

Danny Qualteria (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) was 4 for 4 with 2 runs scored, 3 RBI and 3 stolen bases, Kyle Stoner (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township (NJ)) went 2 for 5 with 2 doubles and Aiden Pearson (Newtown Square, PA/Marple Newtown) had a double, 2 RBI and scored 2 runs.

Stoner's double to left field in the 7th scored Shane Henrick (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon) and Qualteria, giving Northampton its first lead of the game at 12-11. 

The two wins puts Northampton at 9-6 overall and 4-1 in Region 19.

The Jersey Blues fall to 12-2 overall and 8-2 in the Region.

A date for game three of the Region 19 series between Northampton and Brookdale has not yet been determined. 

The Spartans will host Delaware County Community College on Friday in game one of their Region 19 series.
