BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 12th ranked Northampton baseball team picked up another Region 19 victory on Friday afternoon, downing the Phantoms of Delaware County, 21-9, at Spartan Park, in game one of their 3-game series.
The Spartans jumped out to a 7-1 lead after one inning and never looked back, racking up 18 hits in the victory.Â
Ellis Snow (Harrisburg, PA/Lower Dauphin) earned the win on the mound, with 5 innings of work, allowing 4 runs on 2 hits, with 6 walks and 3 strikeouts.Â
Braden Cummings (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown) was 3 for 4 with 4 RBI and a triple,
Aiden Pearson (Newtown Square, PA/Marple Newtown) went 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI and
Cade Capello (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown) finished 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored.
The Spartans improve to 10-6 overall and 5-1 in Region 19.
Delaware County falls to 1-11 overall and 0-9 in Region play.Â
The Spartans and Phantoms will match up again on Saturday in Media, PA in games two and three of their Region 19 series.Â
