BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's volleyball team dropped a gut-wrenching 3-2 decision, (24-26, 25-22, 23-25, 25-19, 12-15), to Ocean County College on Wednesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center. 

John Nice (Feasterville, PA/Neshaminy) recorded 24 kills, 6 service aces, 14 digs and 4 blocks, but it wasn't enough as the visiting Vikings swept the season series from the Spartans.  Ocean defeated Northampton on March 8th in another 5-set barn burner, (23-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-17, 13-15), in Toms River.

Luke Smith (Breiningsville, PA/Parkland) had 15 kills, 11 digs and 5 blocks, Omarion Tembo (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) registered 12 kills and 17 digs and Zach Franges (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) notched 48 assists for the Spartans. 

"Another really tight match with Ocean," remarked Head Coach Rachael Aquila, "we have had some pretty epic matches over the last couple of years ... they always play us tough."

The loss drops Northampton to 10-2 overall and 8-2 in Region 19. 

Ocean improves to 9-7 overall and 8-4 in the Region.

The Spartans will be back on the court Friday night when they host Passaic County Community College at 6:30pm.
