BRYN MAWR, Pa. - The Northampton men's volleyball team remained perfect on the season, but it wasn't easy, as the Harcum Bears pushed them to the limit, with the Spartans escaping with a 3-2 victory on Wednesday evening at OMCG Arena.
The Spartans jumped out to a convincing 2-0 lead, winning set one 25-19 and set two 25-19, but the Bears rallied to take the third set 25-23 and set four 25-20, setting up the winner take all 5th set. Northampton dominated action in the 5th set, winning 15-9, to take the match.

Omarion Tembo (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) had 14 kills, 4 digs and 2 blocks,
Luke Smith (Breiningsville, PA/Parkland) recorded 12 kills, 4 digs and 4 blocks and
Fred Patton (Trexlertown, PA/Parkland) finished with 10 kills, 2 service aces, 10 digs and 2 blocks,
Matthew Gonzalez (Coopersburg, PA/Liberty) added 21 digs and
Zach Franges (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) registered 51 assists for the Spartans.
Northampton improves to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the Region.
Harcum falls to 4-4 overall and 2-4 in Region 19.
The Spartans hit the road this weekend to Toms River, NJ, where they will compete in a tri-match at Ocean County College vs. the host Vikings and Brookdale Community College.
