EDISON, NJ - The Northampton baseball team dropped game three of their Region 19 series vs. Middlesex College, falling 17-7 on Saturday afternoon at Colts Park.  The two teams had split games one and two on Friday in Bethlehem, with Northampton taking game one and Middlesex winning the nightcap. 
On Saturday, Middlesex took control early and never relinquished it, sprinting out to a 13-3 lead after 3 innings and coasting to a run-rule shortened victory. 
Jack Smale (Kunkletown, PA/Pleasant Valley) was 2 for 2 with a double, 2 RBI and 2 walks, while 
Jorge Maldonado (Aguadilla, Puerto Rico/Beltran Academy (PR)) finished 2 for 2 with a RBI, run scored and a walk. 
Nathan Mostosky (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) took the loss on the hill, allowing 9 runs (5 earned) on 7 hits in 2.1 innings of work, walking 4 and striking out 2.  
Ellis Snow (Harrisburg, PA/Lower Dauphin) came on in relief for 0.2 inning and allowed 4 runs on 4 hits, before being replaced by 
Aaron Clark (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty). Clark pitched the final 3.0 innings, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 4 hits with 3 strikeouts and 2 walks.
Northampton falls to 16-16 overall and 10-11 in Region 19. 
Middlesex moves to 24-16 overall and 12-11 in the Region.
The Spartans return to the diamond on Tuesday when they travel to Bergen Community College for a 3:30pm single 9-inning contest.
