TOMS RIVER, NJ - The 4th ranked Northampton Baseball team clinched their Region 19 series vs. Ocean County College, topping the Vikings 15-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Cohen Field.
The Spartans took an early 1-0 lead and then tacked on 5 runs in the 4th and 6 in the 5th to put the game away.
Brad Rissmiller (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl) picked up the win, going 5.0 innings, scattering 3 hits and striking out one.
Christopher Parrillo (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) threw the final two innings, finishing off the shutout, while striking out 2.
Cody Miller (Oxford, NJ/Warren Hills (NJ)) finished 3 for 3 with a double,
Shane Henrick (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon) was 3 for 4 with a RBI and
Lincoln Hower (Kintnersville, PA/Faith Christian) went 1 for 2 with 3 RBI and a walk.
The win moves Northampton to 15-9 overall and 9-4 in Region 19.
Ocean falls to 5-16 overall and 3-10 in Region play.
The Spartans improve to 18-6 all-time vs. the Vikings.
Northampton is back in action on Thursday as they are set to host Brookdale in a single 9-inning contest, scheduled to start at 3:30pm.
