BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 4th seeded Northampton softball team swept #5 Camden County College on Wednesday afternoon in the Region 19 quarterfinals, advancing to their 9th Region 19 Final Four in program history.
GAME ONE - WON 10-2 (5 innings)
Sydney Harper (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) earned the win in the circle in game one, throwing a complete game, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits, striking out 3.
Jenna Geiger (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) was 2 for 3 with a homerun, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI, while Mogan Boyd finished 2 for 3 with a run scored and a RBI.
GAME TWO - WON 12-3 (5 innings)
Emma Kozy (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) worked her way out of some early inning trouble and earned the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, striking out 7.
Mya Frana (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) led the offense with a 3 for 3 performance at the plate, including a double and 4 RBI.
The two wins move Northampton to 18-10 overall, while Camden finishes their season at 6-33.
The Spartans advance to the Region 19 Final Four on Friday, where they will face top-seeded RCSJ-Gloucester at 10am. The double-elimination tournament will be played in Sewell, NJ, on the campus of RCSJ-Gloucester.
