NEWTON, NJ - The Northampton Women's Volleyball team continued their strong start to the season on Wednesday night, cruising to their 10th straight victory with a 25-4, 25-5, 25-7 sweep over Sussex County Community College at Skylander Arena.
Sophomore
Lexi Womack (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) collected 9 kills, 6 service aces, 5 digs and Freshman
Kyra Miller (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) added 5 kills and 1 dig to lead the Spartans attack.
Grace Coppola (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic) added 3 kills and 9 aces with
Gianna Sciarra (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) recording 19 digs and a game high 10 service aces in the win.
Samantha Nagy (Easton, PA/Easton) added 21 assists, 5 service aces and 6 digs to round out the strong effort.
"Very pleased in a lot of areas tonight," explained Head Coach
Rachael Aquila, "We had a balanced attack with some strong individual efforts and I was glad to see our approach tonight with our serve game. We will continue to work in all areas and keep playing hard. We have another tough match this weekend. One match at a time."
The Spartans, ranked 8th in the most recent NJCAA national poll, improve to 10-0 overall with the win.
Sussex County Community College slips to 0-5.
The Spartans are back in action this Saturday, September 20th when they host NJCAA Division II member Delaware Technical & Community College at the Arthur L. Scott Center at 12pm.
