BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The nationally ranked Northampton Women's Volleyball team remained red hot with a dominating 3-0 sweep (25-14, 25-11, 25-19) over visiting Middlesex College on Wednesday evening in the Arthur L. Scott Center.

Freshman Middle Hitter Sophia Tyma (Bethlehem, PA/Lehigh Valley Academy) helped set the tone with 6 kills, 3 blocks and 1 dig for the undefeated Spartans. Sophomore Lexi Womack (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) contributed 6 kills, 2 service aces and 8 digs and Grace Coppola (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic) added 4 kills, 8 service aces, 2 digs and 2 blocks. Setter Samantha Nagy (Easton, PA/Easton) collected 26 assists to go along with 1 kill, 1 service ace and 9 digs while Gianna Sciarra (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) recorded 16 digs, 1 assist and 3 aces in the win.

"Another solid effort tonight," explained Head Coach Rachael Aquila, " I felt we had another good flow to our game tonight and that is what we want to continue to see. We are bringing pressure with our serve game, defending the net and staying aggressive with our swings and running our offense. Everyone is contributing and we will keep working hard. We have a tough test on the road this weekend."

The Spartans, ranked #8 in the most recent NJCAA national poll, remain perfect at 13-0 overall with the win.

Middlesex College slips to 2-5 overall with the loss.

The Spartans are back in action on Saturday, September 27th when they travel to Lincroft, NJ and Collins Arena to take on the Brookdale Jersey Blues at 11am.
