EDISON, NJ - The Northampton men's volleyball team picked up two victories on Saturday, sweeping Harcum College and host Middlesex College at the Colt tri-match.
MATCH ONE vs. Harcum College (Won 3-0)
Luke Smith (Breiningsville, PA/Parkland) recorded 10 kills and
Fred Patton (Trexlertown, PA/Parkland) notched 8 kills, 4 service aces and 4 digs as the Spartans downed Harcum College 25-21, 25-17, 25-18.
Lucas Johnson (Glendale, AZ/Independence (AZ)) posted 26 assists and
Spencer Parker (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) added 3 kills.
MATCH TWO vs. Middlesex College (Won 3-0)
In match two,
Luke Smith (Breiningsville, PA/Parkland) had a team-high 13 kills while
Fred Patton (Trexlertown, PA/Parkland) recorded 7 kills, 4 service aces and 9 digs to lead Northampton past Middlesex, 25-23, 25-19, 25-21.
Lucas Johnson (Glendale, AZ/Independence (AZ)) had 25 assists and
Calvin Long (Allentown, PA/William Allen) added 6 kills and 4 digs.
The two victories moves Northampton to 2-6 overall and 2-6 in Region 19.
Harcum falls to 5-9 overall and 1-6 in the Region, while Middlesex drops to 2-13 overall and 2-7 in Region play. .
The Spartans are back in action on Monday when they travel to Atlantic Cape Community College for a 6pm matchup.
