BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's volleyball team picked up an important Region 19 victory on Wednesday evening, downing Passaic County Community College, 3-1, at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
The Spartans jumped out to a 25-22 victory in the first set, but the Panthers rebounded taking the second set 25-23. Northampton regrouped and were able to take set three 27-25 and then finish off the match with a 25-19 win in the 4th set.
Luke Smith (Breiningsville, PA/Parkland) tallied 18 kills, 18 digs and 3 blocks,
Shane Jones (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) racked up 10 kills and 10 digs and
Calvin Long (Allentown, PA/William Allen) notched 10 kills and 6 digs for the Spartans.

Lucas Johnson (Glendale, AZ/Independence (AZ)) added 43 assists, 5 kills and 6 digs for Northampton.
The Spartans improve to 3-7 overall and 3-7 in the Region with the win.
Passaic falls to 5-8 overall and 2-4 in the Region.
Northampton travels to Toms River, NJ on Saturday for a tri-match with Ocean and Brookdale.
