BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton baseball team cruised past visiting NJCAA DII County College of Morris, 15-1, for a non-conference victory and their 20th overall win of the season on Monday afternoon at Spartan Park.
The Spartans rode the complete game effort from freshman pitcherÂ
Ryder Hertzler (East Earl, PA/Garden Spot) and a balanced offensive attack that scored 15 runs on 17 hits. Every Spartan in the lineup recorded a base hit in the win while Hertzler improved to (2-0) on the season, allowing 1 run on 7 hits, and striking out 5.

Ryder Hertzler (East Earl, PA/Garden Spot) and it seemed like the bats started to wake up again. We just need to keep marching forward."
Matthew Tankred (East Greenville, PA/Southern Lehigh) led the way for the Spartans with a 3-3 day at the plate with a home run and 4 RBI.
John Pushkar (Catasauqua, PA/Catasauqua) was 3-5 with a run scored and an RBI and
Joey Richards (Bath, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) was 2-4 with an RBI.
Drew Mulligan (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Carroll) chipped in with a bases clearing triple and finished his day going 1-3 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI.
Danny Qualteria (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) was 2-5 with a stolen base along with 3 runs scored and an RBI.
The Spartans broke the game open with 11 runs in the bottom of the second inning to open a 13-0 lead over the visiting Titans and never looked back.
Northampton improves to 20-12 overall on the season.
County College of Morris falls to 2-18 overall.
The Spartans are back on the field on Wednesday when they travel to Augusta, NJ to take on NJCAA DII Sussex County Community College in a non-conference match-up at 6pm at Skylands Stadium.
