BLUE BELL, PA - Sophomore first baseman
Matthew Tankred (East Greenville, PA/Southern Lehigh) was 4-5 with two home runs and 5 runs batted in to lead the 12th ranked Spartans to a, 17-4, win over Montgomery County Community College on Tuesday afternoon in game one of their Region 19 series.
The Spartans had 7 players with multi-hits in the Box Score as the offense delivered again with 17 runs scored on 18 hits.

Adrian Yaguez, "Very pleased with the way we are swinging the bats and scoring runs and hope we can keep this going a bit. We just need to keep taking things one game at a time and feel we all feel the same way. We are pleased with the win but know tomorrow is a new day and we just need to keep showing up and playing hard."
Matthew Tankred (East Greenville, PA/Southern Lehigh) was the headliner with his 4-5 effort at the plate and 2 home runs and several Spartans followed the lead.
Josh Brancy (Sparta. NJ/Sparta (NJ)) and
Max Landis (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) were both 3-5 with Landis also scoring 3 runs and hitting a double.
Danny Qualteria (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) was 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI and
Joey Richards (Bath, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) was 2-4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI.
Kyle Stoner (Burlington Township (NJ)/Burlington Township (NJ)) was 2-3 and
John Pushkar (Catasauqua, PA/Catasauqua) chipped in with 2 doubles and 4 RBI for the Spartans.
Jared Diefenbach (Stewartsville, NJ/Phillipsburg (NJ)) improved to (5-0) on the mound with 5 innings of work, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits, and striking out 3.
Ben Mostosky (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) pitched 2 innings of scoreless relief to close out the mercy rule win.
The Spartans jumped ahead, 3-0, in the top of the first inning, and built a, 12-4, lead after 6 innings. The Spartans were able to break the game open with 5 runs in the top of the seventh to put the game out of reach.
Ben Mostosky (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) delivered with a 1, 2, 3 inning in the bottom of the seventh inning to seal the win.
The Spartans improve to 28-14 overall and 19-8 in Region 19.
The Mustangs are now 17-12 overall and 17-12 in the Region.
Northampton is back on the field on Wednesday as they host Montgomery County Community College in a doubleheader to close out their Region 19 series at 1pm at Spartan Park.
