EDISON, NJ - The #3 seed Northampton softball team saw their 2026 season come to a close on Monday afternoon with a, 10-0, loss to #1 seed RCSJ-Gloucester in the semifinals of the Region 19 double-elimination tournament.
The Spartans fell in their opening game, 10-2, to Brookdale Community College and rebounded to defeat #4 seed Camden County College, 12-7, on Sunday, advancing to the Monday semifinal match up with the top seeded Roadrunners. The winner would advance to the Region 19 championship against the #2 seed Jersey Blues.
"Tough way to end but proud of our team," explained Spartans Head Coach
Eric Kutteroff, "We battled all season and did the best we could to overcome some injuries and felt our kids gave it all they had. Not much more that we can ask. This is a good group and we appreciate how they competed all season."
The Spartans fell behind, 7-0, in the first inning and just could not get things going offensively to get back in the game. The Spartans had 3 hits and committed 6 errors in the season ending loss.
Abymarie Colon (Easton, Pa/Wilson High School),
Kyra Miller (Whitehall, Pa/Whitehall High School) and
Maggie Pagotto (Lehighton, Pa/Lehighton) all went 1-2 at the plate for the Spartans.
Northampton ends their season with an overall record of 18-13.
RCSJ-Gloucester improves to 36-7 overall and advances to the Region 19 championship game against Brookdale Community College.
