BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The nationally ranked Northampton women's volleyball team delivered a convincing 25-23, 25-13, 25-10 win over Union College of Union County New Jersey on Wednesday night at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Freshman Outside Hitter
Amanda Rivera (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) continued her outstanding play, collecting 8 kills, 5 service aces and 4 digs for the Spartans. Middle Hitter
Kornelia Wszolek (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) had 7 kills along with 1 service ace and 3 digs. Setter
Allie Keck (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) picked up 26 assists with 7 service aces and 2 blocks and
Emily Marcial (Allentown, PA/Executive Charter) locked down 11 digs and 2 service aces.
"Good solid effort," stated Spartans Head Coach
Rachael Aquila after the win, "I thought we were good all the away around tonight. I feel things are starting to come together for us."
Northampton, which Received Votes in the NJCAA national poll earlier in the week, improves to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in Region 19.
Union College of Union County New Jersey falls to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in the Region.
The Spartans are back on the court in Region 19 action on Saturday, September 26th when they travel to Mays Landing, New Jersey to take on Atlantic Cape Community College at 12pm at the Buccaneer Center.
