Pereira Nets Two as Spartans Blank MontCo

Sophomore Dan Pereira
BLUE BELL, Pa. - The NCC Spartans soccer team used a pair of goals from sophomore Daniel Pereira and solid goaltending from Patrick Szarzynski to earn a 2-0 victory over Montgomery County Community College on Wednesday afternoon.

The Spartans, now 10-5-0 overall and 9-3-0 in conference play, move into sole possession of second place in the EPCC and control their own destiny for playoff seedings and a potential home playoff game.

"It was a hard-fought win," remarked Head Coach Erik Daly, "any road win in this league is a good win.  The kids were really focused and I thought our defense played very well today."

Northampton travels to the Community College of Philadelphia on Saturday to face the Colonials.  NCC won the earlier season match-up, 3-0, on September 24th in Bethlehem.
