RANDOLPH, NJ - The Northampton Community College men's soccer team opened the 2009 campaign with a 9-0 loss at the County College of Morris on Saturday.
The Titans, ranked 3rd in the latest NJCAA national poll, jumped out to a 5-0 halftime lead and cruised to the 9-0 victory. Ryan Hurdes and Hamilton Sotelo each scored 4 goals to pace Morris, which improved to 4-0-0 on the season.
Patrick Szarzynski (Pleasant Valley) recorded 7 saves in goal for the Spartans, who fall to 0-1-0.
The Spartans, in their first season of NJCAA competition, return to action on September 9th when they host Lehigh-Carbon Community College at 4pm.
