Soccer Looks To Regroup In Home Opener

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's soccer team (0-1-0) will look to regroup on Wednesday when they host Lehigh-Carbon Community College in their home opener, after dropping their season opener to nationally-ranked County College of Morris on Saturday.

The Spartans, in their first season as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), fell behind the 3rd ranked Titans 5-0 at halftime, beforing losing 9-0.  Morris, which improved to 4-0-0 on the season, has not allowed a goal this season.

"It was definitely an eye-opener for us," remarked Head Coach Erik Daly, "Morris is very strong and definitely worthy of a national ranking.  It was great for our guys to get the opporunity to compete against one of the top programs in the NJCAA, it will definitely prepare us for the upcoming EPCC schedule."

Wednesday's game against LCCC will mark the conference-opener for the Spartans, who captured the EPCC regular season crown last year.

Game time is set for 4pm.
