Soccer Downs Broome CC for Fifth Straight Victory

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The NCC men's soccer team ran their winning streak to five games with a 3-2 victory over Broome Community College (Region III) on Saturday afternoon.

Seth Dempsey put the Spartans on the board, scoring his 9th goal of the season, with nine minutes remaining in the first half. 

Luis Galvez scored with 47 seconds remaining before halftime to give NCC a 2-0 lead at the break.

The Hornets responded early in the second half, cutting the margin to 2-1, before Josh Hoff scored what proved to be the game winning goal with with 20 minutes remaining in the contest. 

Broome scored a late goal to make the final score, 3-2.

"Once again the guys really played a strong 90 minutes," remarked Head Coach Ned Yelovich, "Broome was a quality opponent and this was a very good win for our program."

The victory moves NCC to 6-5-1 overall (5-5-1 Region XIX).

NCC hosts defending NJCAA national champion Union County College on October 14th at 3:30pm.
