Baseball Set to Depart for Myrtle Beach

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - As rain prepares to descend upon the Lehigh Valley, the NCC baseball team is looking toward sunny skies in Myrtle Beach.

The Spartans will be departing for South Carolina on Saturday morning in preparation for their season opener on Sunday March 14th vs. Westmoreland County College at 9:00 am at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach.

Coach Yaguez and the Spartans will play eight (8) games in 4 days before returning home to face the nation's 3rd ranked team in Herkimer County Community College on March 21st at 11:00am.

"This is a business trip," stated Yaguez, "we are approaching this trip as the launching pad for our season ... we have a chance to play some top-notch programs and prepare ourselves for our league schedule when we return."

The Spartans finished the 2009 season with an 8-12 overall record and a 7-9 mark in league play, just missing the Region XIX playoffs.
