COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. - The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced that Northampton sophomore Chris Chamberlain has been named Division III Pitcher of the Week.

Chamberlain (Pleasant Valley), had a busy week appearing in three games, going 2-1.  Chamberlain threw a one-hit shutout with five strikeouts in a victory over Garrett College (MD) and then threw a complete game victory over 9th ranked Herkimer County Community College (NY), striking out six.

"This is great honor for Chris and our program," commented Head Coach Adrian Yaguez, "Chambo worked very hard during the offseason and it is paying off."

The Spartans, in their second season of NJCAA competition, are currently 4-6 heading into Thursday's game at Division II Burlington County College (NJ).
