Joest Powers Baseball Past CCM

Billy Turner went 4 for 5 in the victory over CCM
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Sophomore Christian Joest went 4 for 5 with 2 homeruns and 5 RBI to lead NCC to an 11-7 victory over NJCAA Division II County College of Morris on Tuesday afternoon.

Joest, a transfer from NCAA Division I NJIT, hit a two-run homer in the 3rd and added a three-run shot in the 6th.  Joest's 5 RBI on Tuesday give him 44 on the season, which is tied for third in the nation and is first in Region XIX.

Billy Turner was 4 for 5 with two runs scored and Eric Bohem was 3 for 5, including a two-run double in the 5th inning.

Shawn Heck (2-0) earned the win on the mound, going seven innings with four strikeouts and one walk while allowing five earned runs.

Jason Pennypacker (8th inning) and Mike Ciavarella (9th) each came on in relief for Coach Yaguez and held the Titans scoreless to secure the victory for Northampton.

NCC , which improves to 18-16 overall (9-7 in Region XIX), will host the nation's number one team, Gloucester County College, on Saturday beginning at Noon.

County College of Morris falls to 16-16 overall.
