BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The NCC Baseball team placed two players on the 2010 All-Region team, which was announced Thursday by the league office.
Joey Bamford (Warren Hills) and
Eric Bohem (Phillipsburg) were both named to the 2nd team.
Bamford is batting a team-best .510, which ranks 3rd in the nation. In addition he has six doubles, 20 RBI, 30 runs scored and eight stolen bases.
Bohem, whose .477 batting average places him the top-10 nationally, has a team-high four triples to go along with his eight doubles and 24 RBI.
"It is a great honor to be named to the All-Region team when you play in Region XIX," remarked Head Coach
Adrian Yaguez, "This region is so deep in talent, you really need to stand out to be recognized and these two guys have had fantastic seasons."
Bamford and Bohem are the first two Spartans to be recognized in baseball as All-Region performers.
The Spartans, 18-18 overall and 9-9 in Region XIX, travel to Bergen County College this weekend to face the Bulldogs in a best of three series. The winner advances to the Region XIX Final Four at Gloucester County College on May 7, 8, and 9.
