LINCROFT, NJ - The nation's leading scorer Dave Cornwell scored 4 goals and Chris Kantona added 3 as the 4th ranked, and undefeated, Brookdale Jersey Blues cruised past NCC, 11-0, in men's soccer action on Saturday.
Jeremie Martinez made 15 saves in goal for Northampton, which only traveled with 13 players in uniform, due to injuries.
"Give Brookdale credit," remarked NCC Head Coach Ned Yelovich, "they are very talented and play very hard. We are looking for answers right now ... we need to find a way to turn this season around and get some positive momentum down the stretch. This game, and quite honestly this season, are not reflective of what Northampton Soccer is about."
Northampton, who defeated Brookdale last season, falls to 1-9-1 overall and 1-8-1 in Region XIX.
The Spartans return to action on Monday when they host Cumberland County College at 3:30pm.
Brookdale improves to 14-0-0 overall and 10-0-0 in Region XIX.
