PARAMUS, NJ - Playing their second game in less than 24 hours, the NCC men's soccer team fell to Bergen Community College, 5-0, on Sunday afternoon.
Bergen scored just six minutes into the contest and then added two more goals at the 15 minute mark and the 32 minute mark to take a commanding 3-0 halftime lead.
The Bulldogs quickly put the game out of reach in the second half, scoring two more goals in the first 10 minutes to go up 5-0.
"We tried to come back on short rest, but with our limited bench and injuries, it made it very difficult," lamented Head Coach Ned Yelovich, "we played with tired legs and Bergen was very aggressive and took advantage of it."
The loss drops Northampton to 2-13-1 overall and 2-12-1 in Region XIX.
The Spartans finish the regular season on October 19th when they travel to Montgomery County Community College.
Bergen improves to 8-4-1 overall.
