Volleyball Improves to 11-0 with Victory Over Bergen

PARAMUS, NJ - The nationally-ranked NCC women's volleyball remained undefeated on the season with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-17) victory over Bergen Community College on Thursday evening.

"Once again we came out very slow in the first game," commented Head Coach Adrian Yaguez, "but to their credit, the girls responded and played some very solid volleyball after that point.  Bergen has a very solid progam, I am really impressed with what their coaching staff is doing."

Freshmen sensation Kelly Yagerhofer recorded a triple-double, finishing with 16 kills, 13 aces and 11 digs. "Kelly had a terrific match," remarked Head Yaguez, "she has been very solid for us all year ... in my mind, she is the Region XIX Player of the Year."

Meghan Granite had 8 kills, Halie Cintron finished with 31 assists and Courtney Rice added 22 digs.

The victory propels Northampton to 11-0 overall and 8-0 in Region XIX, just one game ahead of second place Montgomery County Community College (7-1).

Bergen falls to 5-6 overall and 4-4 in Region XIX.

The Spartans return to the court on Saturday when they travel to Union County College for a noon match.
