The Buck"s" Stops Here for Northampton

NEWTOWN, Pa. - Bucks County Community College won its 5th straight game, downing Northampton 3-0 on Monday afternoon at Centurion Stadium.

Jared Dickson got Bucks on the board first, scoring his first of two goals on the day, just 10 minutes into the contest.  Dickson converted a penalty kick 11 minutes later to give the Centurions a 2-0 halftime advantage.

Wayne Horger finished off the scoring for BCCC 14 minutes into the second stanza to make the final 3-0.

"I knew things would be difficult for us once they went up 2-0 given the difficulty we have had this season finding the back of the net," commented Northampton Head Coach Joe Heitczman, "our defense has been fairly steady this season, but we have really struggled to find a flow offensively."

The loss drops Northampton to 2-9-3 overall and 2-4-3 in conference play.

Bucks improves to 8-4-2 overall and 7-1-2 in conference.

Northampton returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Harrisburg, in what may be a must win game as NCC fights for a playoff birth.  The Spartans need to finish .500, or better, in Region XIX play to qualify for the postseason.  The Spartans currently stand at 2-4-3 with three games remaining.
