Baseball Ends Drought, Gets First Two Wins of 2012

All-American Mike Tengalia had 5 RBI on the day for NCC
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The monkey is off their back ... after starting the season with six straight losses, the NCC Baseball team rebounded on Wednesday with two dominating victories, downing Del Tech Owens 13-3 and the College of Southern Maryland by the same 13-3 margin.

In game one, Greg Garcia went 3 for 4 with 5 RBI, Jake Chamberlain was 3 for 4 with 4 RBI and Mike Tenaglia was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and 2 doubles to lead the Spartan offense.

Jake Ruch earned the victory, going 4 innings, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, walking 4 and striking out 4.

In game two, Richie Eilenberger earned the victory on the mound, with a 5-inning performance, allowing 6 hits, 3 runs (2 earned) and striking out 4.

John DeJesus had a solo homerun, Tenaglia was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI and Elliot Freeman was 1 for 3 with 3 RBI. 

Freeman hit a 2-run single in the 4th inning to put NCC up 6-3, after they trailed 3-2 going into the bottom of the 4th. 

The two victories put Northampton at 2-6 overall with two games remaining Thursday on their 10-game Spring Trip.
