County College of Morris Downs Spartans

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The County College of Morris broke a 0-0 halftime tie with a strong second half showing, to earn a 5-0 victory over Northampton on Thursday afternoon in NJCAA soccer action.

The Titans, a perennial region powerhouse, who  failed to convert on numerous opportunities in the first half, saw their fortunes change early in the second half, scoring two quick goals to take a 2-0 advantage and then coasting to the 5-0 victory.

"Morris is by far the best team we have seen this year," commented NCC Head Coach Joe Heitczman, "they are very strong up front and based on their showing in the Herkimer tournament last weekend, I would guess they will be in the hunt for the Region XIX title."

The loss drops Northampton to 0-1-2 overall and 0-0-2 in Region XIX / EPAC play.

The Spartans return to action on Saturday when they travel to Middlesex County College to face the Colts.
